About This Content One of the Great Western Railway’s most iconic tank engines, the Class 14XX, comes to Train Simulator complete with GWR autocoach.Based on the ageing 517 Class, the first of the diminutive tank engines entered service in 1932 as part of the 48XX Class and designed for running autotrains when coupled to autocoaches on branch lines of the Great Western region. Twenty locomotives – classified as Class 58XX – were also built without fittings for autocoach running. In the mid-1940s, the GWR experimented with oil burning locomotives, which saw the 48XX Class reclassified as 14XX Class, a classification they carried until the end of steam in Britain and their working life. The last 58XX Class locomotive was withdrawn in 1959 with the 14XX Class withdrawn from service by 1965.Numerous autocoach designs were tried by GWR, many of them being converted from Steam Railmotors which were tried at the beginning of the 20th Century but had proven to be too impractical. Autocoaches were designed to be operated in conjunction with tank engines like the 14XX Class to provide push-pull services on branch lines and where locomotive turning was not possible. All four variants of the Class are included for Train Simulator, including the GWR 48XX with autocoach fitted, GWR 58XX unfitted, BR 14XX with autocoach fitted and BR 58XX unfitted. The locomotive includes an array of features, including realistic cab with multiple views (including fully modelled firebox and coal), fully modelled and animated valve gear, realistic wheel slip physics, simulated steam chest, cylinder cock management, realistic injector control, opening windows with rain effects and dynamic lamp setting. Also included is a Diagram A31 autocoach in both GWR and BR liveries, which can be used as a driving vehicle when attached to any consist. The locomotive is also Quick Drive compatible, giving you the freedom to drive the GWR Class 14XX on any Quick Drive enabled route for Train Simulator, such as those available through Steam. Also included are scenarios specifically for the Falmouth Branch route (available separately and required to play these scenarios).ScenariosSix scenarios for the Falmouth Branch route:Sunday Driver (Part 1 & 2)Dock ShuttleExtra GoodsCornish ConundrumIn the Bleak MidwinterMore scenarios are available on Steam Workshop online and in-game. A must for any UK steam fan.. What a lovely little addon, with some interesting options added. I'm not a huge fan of the autocoach, but it works exactly as advertised and makes for an interesting change. Most of us probably came for the steamer, and as such, it's not a dissapointment. It features all the regular (advanced) aspects you find in most Victory Works addons, and includes a plethora of additional content for a nice and remarkable set of locomotives.. if you are a fan of the 14xx as much as me i would realy recomend it.. really great model and high in detail. I would recomend this. Brilliant engine, instantly become my favourite - even has sparks coming out of the chimney under heavy usage. Maybe not one to get if you're not used to the pro range and pro driving, but it's even better than the K1. A must for any GWR line...it's lovely.. yes this is a memory train for me the 1950s\/60s at chalford .Down the golden valley to stroud. To me it has the gwr hall mark.. A brilliant little pack for the money if you use all its features if your one who drives it from the f4 hud and never feel's confident to drive a steamer how you should this is a great learners tool with nicley layed out cab and easy to understand manual. The addition of the autocoach is possibly the best feature of this pack as it allows me to have another challenge when i had the engine down and in practice an entirly diffrent experence. The modeling and texture work is second to non the high standared expected of victory works is shown well in this pack and the phisycs and sounds are also of a high quality my only gripe of this engine is that the rear middle window will not open already achived on the 56xx made by karma 99 many years ago apart from this the engine is a great bit of kit and a pleasure to drive
